During november the canal house Rapenburg 63 will get rid of all its functional constructions from the sixties. This includes a large vault, which has to make way for the new lecture hall. The picture shows the start of the demolition of the vault. The hole in the roof suddenly brings back daylight in a space that always bathed in daylight until 1960.
From December the actual construction starts of what will be the most complicated project of Mirck Architecture until now. In the beginning of 2012 the new volumes and spaces will become visible. The completion - including the interior - is expected in September 2012.
