Suburbs take the lead in necessary urban renewal. Smart Suburbia is a research about upgrading the current suburbs by design. Together with Tom Bergevoet Architecture the research started in 2006 with statements. The original booklet can be viewed with the link below.

After an experiment in 2008 - Europan Almere - Mirck Architecture focused on a typical suburb in need: Bergwijkpark, Diemen, Amsterdam. In dialogue with the city the statements of Smart Suburbia were transformed in a research design. View the second link below.
