Buildings usually remain unchanged for a long time, but increasingly, relatively young buildings are also being transformed. Sustainability improvements are often desired, sometimes a change of function, or an expansion, as is the case with the tennis clubhouse.
Transformations occur regularly during the design process. Subsequently, the design is built in accordance with all agreements. In exceptional cases, a transformation is necessary immediately after completion, such as with the Houten Hotel.
